"Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures and while we are saddened to take this action, we know it is the right decision. We eagerly look forward to the time when we can all meet again and share in the community we all love and enjoy," says Comic-Con spokesperson David Glanzer.
The Comic-Con is one of the most important events hold in San Diego and last year over 135,000 people gathered in San Diego convention center to participate at the event.
After California government issued a statement asking the cancellation of gatherings of 250 people and more, the event’s officials canceled it.
The event was scheduled for July 23-26, 2020.
It’s the first time in 50 years that the event is canceled.
